Cruise from Port Canaveral Orlando with Carnival

Keep in mind that because of the building, they can’t offer parking for oversize vehicles. Given the prime location and small size of the lot, it’s a good idea to reserve your spot ahead of time as it will fill up. Because the lot if relatively tight, no RVs or oversize vehicles can park here.

We’ve included all taxes and fees where applicable. Cruise Terminal 10With the size and growth of the Port of Galveston, it was only a matter of time until another terminal was built to accommodate more ships and passengers. Cruise Terminal 10 (complete guide here) is the new home to Royal Caribbean and has the ability to handle its largest Oasis-class ships. The terminal sits east of the current facilities, costing more than $130 million to build. It is located about a mile from the other two terminals and features its own parking areas. Passengers sailing from Galveston usually don’t have far to go to get to the cruise port and head out on vacation.

It received this prestigious award as part of Cruise Hive’s Annual Cruise Ship Awards. This annual event recognizes the best of the best in the cruise industry. In this case, you’ll enter the terminal area at the intersection of Harborside and 14th Street/Royal Caribbean Way. Then, you can follow Royal Caribbean Way to Royal Caribbean Circle (and just follow the signage to the terminal). This will lead you right to the front of the terminal where you will see the large area for luggage drop-off.

Of course, there are several other activities in the area as well. Given the proximity to Orlando, one of the obvious choices is to visit your favorite theme park. Walt Disney World and Universal Studios are both located about an hour away. Walt Disney World is home to the popular Magic Kingdom theme park and Epcot which hosts various festivals throughout the year like the Food and Wine Festival.

If you’re about to cruise from Galveston, we have this guide to answer everything you would want to know about sailing from the port. The Port of Galveston has wheelchairs available for use during embarkation and disembarkation. If wheelchairs are required for the duration of the sailing, passengers are responsible for providing their own or contacting their cruise line to inquire about rentals. Or, you could choose a hotel that is located closer to the port or nearby Cocoa Beach. Better yet, you could spend a few days at Disney World or Universal Studios before your cruise. The cost of using these services varies base on the type of vehicle you choose but average between $60-$90.

Port Canaveral Hotels, Transportation, and Parking

Prices runs $160 for a 7-day cruise with shuttle, after taxes/fees. Five-day cruises see prices of $114 with taxes if you take the shuttle or $98 with no shuttle. Your rate includes a shuttle to and from the port, located 5-7 blocks away. Also, if you are worried about storms while you are away, know that Lighthouse Parking offers an elevated lot. We suggest people don’t schedule a flight before noon if flying from Houston Hobby and 1 p.m.

Driving to the PortOne of the reasons that Galveston is such a popular cruise port is that millions live within a few hours’ drive of the port. That makes it convenient to get to the cruise port and not having to deal with airports or flying. As well, having your car means you can get to the port when you want, leave as soon as you get off the ship, and not have to meet anyone else’s schedule. Cruise Terminal 28 (Formerly Terminal 2)Cruise Terminal 28 was the home to Royal Caribbean ships before they moved to the new terminal.

If you’re walking to the terminal, it’s a bit farther than Terminal 25, but if you are taking a shuttle, they will drop you off right at the entrance. The good news is that with only three terminals and ample parking facilities, it’s fairly simple to get your way around the Port of Galveston. However, many people — especially those flying in for their cruise who are unfamiliar with the area — may have questions about what to expect. If you're taking a cab to the Port of Galveston on the day of your sailing, your driver will need to follow signs for your ship's specific terminal. Specific drop-off locations are designated at each terminal, and each terminal has its own designated taxi area.

Compared to airports, checking-in and security on a cruise ship is a dream. To drop off passengers or pick up, head into the port entrance at the intersection of 22nd Street and Harborside Drive. From there, it’s as simple as following the signs to the correct area for passengers to get out.

Or maybe you just want to unload those heavy suitcases before you park. On either side of the entrance is a stairway and escalators to the check-in area. Head up and you’ll reach the second floor of the terminal that leads to boarding the ship. Visitors will also find last-minute shopping and convenience stores in downtown Cape Canaveral. The parking fee is waived for vehicles with special equipment, such as wheelchair ramps and lifts, or to those with Florida exemption permits. Oversize parking for RVs is also available at each terminal.

All you have to do is book your cruise, follow our directions, and have a fabulous luxury cruise experience. They also offer a large variety of other packages for parking or transportation only. You can set sail stress-free knowing Go Port will get you to your ship’s terminal with plenty of time to board. Let Go Port take care of everything you need ashore so you can make the most of your vacation.

The terminal address is 9245 Charles M. Rowland Drive. This older cruise terminal at Port Canaveral is now used mainly by Norwegian Cruise Line ships and Marella Discovery. This huge terminal covers 185,000 square feet, handles 10,000 pieces of luggage at any one time, and costs $155 million to build.

Galveston is known for having a number of parking options — including lots of independent lots that can help save you money. Port ParkingSituated close to the official Port of Galveston parking, this facility offers both indoor and outdoor parking in its 24-hour secured lots. The lot does offer a discount if you don’t take a shuttle, however, we consider this distance too far to walk (nearly a mile). Park 2 Cruise GalvestonYou may notice that several lots only serve Terminal 25 and 28.

With this option, you can park at your cruise terminal’s designated parking garage and simply take a short walk to your ship. The current parking rate is $17 per day, including day of arrival and day of departure. Some of these options include Contrans Shuttle Service, Cocoa Beach Shuttle, and Mears Transportation. Of course, some hotels themselves offer transportation, sometimes complimentary, from the airport. Most often, these shuttles are a shared service and run on a set time schedule. As mentioned previously, if you live within driving distance of Port Canaveral, you will likely be driving to the cruise terminal.

An Express Lot (2702 Harborside Dr.) is within walking distance of Terminal 25 and Terminal 28. Further, Kennedy Space Center is one of the most popular attractions near Port Canaveral. Admission to this active spaceflight facility includes a variety of exhibits and attractions. To enjoy everything Kennedy Space Center has to offer, plan on spending at least one full day here.

The Port of Galveston is also conveniently located as it's in close proximity to the charming Strand Historic District. Many cruise lines offer an option to book this transportation pre-cruise. Once at the airport, a cruise line representative will greet you at baggage claim and escort you and your luggage to the check-in area. After checking-in, you will board the next departing bus to the ship. So, this cruise port is popular for short 3 and 4-day cruises.
